So Pastor Terry Jones has backed off of a plan to burn korans after being deceived into believing the Cordoba Mosque is being moved from Ground Zero.
Jeez, there's nothing more stupid than going into a battle without counting the cost or considering the enemy. I mean, I could have told him they would have double-talked to prevent the burning (the freedom to do so ALSO being an American Value that those in the MSM protesting the burning have chosen not to emphasize.)
Nevertheless, this entire episode actually proved a point the Pastor Jones was trying to make. The point of the burining of the Koran was to underline the fact that its teachings foment violence and hatred, rather than peace and tolerance, in those who believe it. The reaction, not to the burning, but the mere suggestion of the burning, has proven this very point. It is out of hatred of Christianity that this is deliberately overlooked by the members of the American ruling class.
Thus, Mission accomplished, but after a fashion: it really would have helped for Pastor Jones to have explicitly made this point.
