Rant from the Dean's Office
Here's a photo from AP, courtesy of Charles at LGF. I made a comment about it there that I decided to repeat here:
What a pathetic excuse for a landmine, sitting on top of asphalt/concrete, 30+ yard "fuse" lying in plain view, set in the dark but in plain view of camera lights bright enough to cast shadows. OBVIOUSY done in Gaza, since if done in Israel proper, this trio, plus the AP photographer, would be scampering to avoid gunfire from the most heavily armed civilian population on the planet.
No Israeli, in his right mind, would actually GO to Gaza unless surrounded by a column of Merkavas and air support from a wing of Apaches. If people actually DIE from this thing, they would have to have IQs in the single digits. Other than their fellow Palestinians, ISM volunteers, and Israeli nominees for the Darwin Award, nobody else comes to mind.
No great loss. Move along. Nothing to see here...
/sarcasm
OBVIOUSLY Staged. The brave AP reporter was probably hoping that this little scene would strike fear into the hearts of the cowards in the IDF and keep them away, thus doing his part to further the Cause Of Peace (TM, Pat. Pend).
